NooJ dictionaries are a unified enhancement of INTEX’s complex system of DELAS, DELAF, DELAC, DELACF, DELAV and lexicon-grammar tables.
NooJ dictionaries are associated with Inflectional and Derivational description, for simple and compound words. Inflectional/Derivational paradigms are formalized as structured libraries of graphs (.nof files) or text-based rules (.flx files). NooJ’s set of morphological operators can be adapted to each language.
NooJ morphological and syntactic grammars are structured libraries of graphs. NooJ’s morphological and syntactic engines are unified: that allows syntactic grammars to include morphological operators, for instance to perform a [passive] transformation or a syntactic agreement check.
NooJ syntactic grammars can be applied in BATCH mode, or in an interactive mode. They are used to add annotations to the text, or to filter annotations (disambiguation). Annotations can be imported from, or exported to, XML documents as XML tags.
